“Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!”1 Chronicles 29:14 · NLT, excerpt
Our gifts, resources, and opportunities are entrusted to us. I want to use them well and give generously.
I’m a Christian, a husband, a dad, and a first-generation immigrant. I was born in Reynosa, Mexico, raised in Houston, and Spanish is my first language.
That’s part of my story, just as much as the businesses I’ve built. So are my faith and my family. I was raised by pastor parents and came to faith at 13.
My wife, Kristen, and I are raising our daughter. Being a husband and a dad is a big part of my life, and it belongs in the conversation about why I build businesses in the first place.
Today, my work includes teaching, writing, speaking, and helping bookkeepers and entrepreneurs put better systems and practical AI to work. But the conversation always comes back to what we want our businesses to make room for: family, faith, time, and a life outside of work.
I earned my BBA at Sam Houston State University and worked as a controller at an immigration law firm before starting my own business.
In 2017, I purchased Bookkeeper Launch, a course offered by Bookkeepers.com, and became a student. I started Paralledger and built a bookkeeping business serving law firms, drawing on the experience and relationships I’d developed while working in that industry.
Along the way, I learned how to find clients, earn their trust, build a team, and move from doing the work to leading the business. Those are still the kinds of challenges I help other business owners work through today.
That journey brought me back to Bookkeepers.com as a coach, then into curriculum and leadership. In 2025, I became the owner of the company that helped me get started.
Following Christ shapes the person
behind the business.
I’m a Christian before I’m a business owner. My relationship with Christ shapes how I want to live, lead, and serve.
I was raised by pastor parents and came to faith at 13. That part of my story is still a big part of who I am today: a husband, a father, and an entrepreneur.
For me, faith belongs in everyday decisions. It influences how I treat a client, support my team, handle a difficult conversation, and use the time and opportunities I’ve been given.
I want to build businesses with integrity, serve people well, and leave room for my family. Revenue and growth matter, but they aren’t the only way I think about success. Character, relationships, and purpose matter too.
Scripture connects what we believe with how we live and work.
“Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!”1 Chronicles 29:14 · NLT, excerpt
Our gifts, resources, and opportunities are entrusted to us. I want to use them well and give generously.
“Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant…”Mark 10:43 · NLT, excerpt
Leadership means serving the people who trust us: our teams, our clients, and our communities.
“Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.”Philippians 2:4 · NLT
The decisions we make affect other people. Their needs and interests belong in the conversation.
